FEP Coated Polyimide Film (FH/FHF) – Heat-Sealable Composite Insulation

Technical Specifications & Product Detail

Heat-Sealable Performance: The FEP (F46) coating melts and fuses at high temperatures (approx. 260°C - 300°C), creating a seamless, moisture-proof insulation layer.

Class H & Beyond: Rated for continuous operation in Class H (180°C) environments, with the ability to maintain dielectric integrity across a wide temperature range.

Superior Dielectric Strength: The FH/FHF structure provides enhanced voltage resistance, essential for high-frequency H2 insulation systems.

Chemical & Weather Resistance: Exceptional resistance to oils, solvents, and UV radiation, ensuring long-term durability in aerospace and automotive applications.

High Tensile Strength: Optimized for high-speed automated winding without tearing or deforming.

FEP Coated Polyimide Film (FH/FHF) – Heat-Sealable Composite Insulation

Product Overview

Our FEP Coated Polyimide Film (High-performance F46 PI Film) consists of a Polyimide film base coated on one side (FH) or both sides (FHF) with a layer of FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene). Unlike standard tapes, this material offers excellent heat-sealability, combining the high-temperature resistance of PI film with the superior moisture and chemical sealing of FEP.

This composite is the premier choice for wire wrapping and cable insulation in extreme environments, providing a permanent, hermetic seal after heat treatment.

Application

Industrial Applications & TDK Component Compatibility

  • TDK ALT Series & High-Frequency Transformers: Ideal for high-reliability winding in TDK ALT3232 and ALT4532 inductors where a moisture-proof, heat-sealed barrier is required for sensitive magnetic cores.

  • Magnet Wire Wrapping: Extensively used for wrapping copper and silver-plated conductors in high-performance motors and oil-filled transformers.

  • Aerospace & Military Electronics: Used in wire harnesses and flat cables for aircraft and satellites due to its low outgassing and high-temperature stability.

  • Flexible Printed Circuits (FPC): Acts as a high-grade coverlay or base material for flexible circuits requiring chemical inertness and thermal bonding.

  • Submersible Motor Winding: The fused FEP layer provides a perfect waterproof seal for motors operating in fluids or high-humidity conditions.
